This is the image for the news article titled ISD 181 Viewpoint: 'A Special Thanks this Holiday Season,' from Brainerd Public SchoolsIt’s been an incredibly busy three months at the Brainerd Public Schools! Fall extra-curricular seasons are complete, five buildings are currently being repurposed, and most of all — outstanding teaching and learning is taking place!

In what feels like the blink of an eye, my family and I are preparing our home, our turkey and our stuffing for our fourth Thanksgiving in the Brainerd lakes area. The holidays are a time to reflect on all of the things I am grateful for and I am pleased to say my list is long. From being given the opportunity to serve as your superintendent of schools in this beautiful community, to provide vision and leadership for the future, to listen and work on behalf of our learners, and to share in the holiday festivities with my loving family and friends, I am so incredibly thankful and appreciative.

Thank you for our students. What joy you bring to me, your parents, guardians, families, and the entire community as you participate in Brainerd Warrior opportunities. I am continually inspired by the collaborative spirit in spreading the district message as ambassadors of the Warrior Way!

Thank you for our excellent teachers and support staff who give so much of themselves to their students; the dedicated administrative team who keep our buses, buildings, cafeterias and technology running smoothly.

Thank you for our parents and guardians who donate time and energy in our classrooms and who help with homework while ensuring that their children come to school ready to learn.

Thank you to our community for your vision and leadership for the future. Your support for our district and our schools brings opportunities that take us beyond our dreams.

Thank you to the consultants and contractors who work in our buildings to ensure the safety, security and innovative educational opportunities our children desire and deserve.

Let the snow fall, the lights twinkle and the smell of home cooking fill the air as we celebrate the spirit of the Thanksgiving season. On behalf of the Board of Education at Brainerd Public Schools, I extend, “A World of Thanks this Holiday Season.” Thank you to everyone across our community for supporting high-quality education, teaching, and learning at ISD 181. Happy Thanksgiving!
