Superintendent Chip Rankin Selected for Minnesota National Guard Leadership

The Brainerd Public Schools Board of Education is proud to congratulate Superintendent Chip Rankin on his selection as the Minnesota National Guard's Assistant Adjutant General – Army. Rankin assumed the role as a brigadier general Aug. 14.
The appointment marks another chapter in Rankin's more than 30 years of service with the Minnesota Army National Guard, alongside his career serving students and communities through public education.
"Chip has built his career around service and leadership, whether that's serving his country, our state or the students and families of Brainerd Public Schools," said Board Chair Sarah Speer. "We're incredibly proud of this accomplishment and of the trust that has been placed in him. We're also fortunate to have that same commitment to service and leadership here in our district every day."
Rankin serves as superintendent of Brainerd Public Schools, where he leads the district's work to serve students, staff, families and the greater Brainerd community.
Rankin's new military appointment does not change his role or responsibilities as superintendent of Brainerd Public Schools
