🎃 Nisswa Elementary Chamber Halloween Parade 👻
🗓 Friday, October 31 | 🕐 1:15 p.m.
It’s almost time for one of our favorite Nisswa traditions — the Chamber Halloween Parade! Students and staff will parade out the main Nisswa doors, through the bank’s fun (and not-too-spooky!) haunted house, and then make their way down Main Street for a true “Only-in-Nisswa” experience! 💙
🍔 Lunch & Root Beer Floats:
A huge thank-you to Nisswa A&W and the Krueger family for providing lunch and root beer floats to all students and staff!
We’re also grateful to our amazing Nisswa Fire Department for volunteering to support food prep and serving. This community is the best! 🙌
💛 And thank you to our Chamber membersfor hosting this special event and helping us make memories for our Warriors!

✨ What Families Need to Know

👀 Watching the Parade:
Families may:
  • Wait outside the main Nisswa entrance to cheer as students begin, and/or
  • Walk along with classes (if not volunteering), OR
  • Wait downtown along Main Street to see the full parade route.
📍 Be sure to check out the attached parade route map to plan the best viewing spot!
🎭 Costumes:
Please send costumes to school in a labeled bag. Students will change before the parade so costumes stay clean and safe during the school day.
🚫 Costume Guidelines:
To keep this a positive, safe, and family-friendly event, please remember:
  • No masks or face coverings of any kind — students’ faces must remain visible so they can be easily identified and safely navigate the parade route.
  • No weapons or props
  • No clown costumes
  • No violent or inappropriate themes
  • No aerosol sprays (hair paint, glitter, etc.) at school — these can trigger asthma
  • All make-up, face paint, and hair styling should be done at home
✅ Costume guidelines apply to both students and spectators.

💙 Parade Update & Volunteer Information 🎈

🎉 Grand Marshal Announcement:
We’re thrilled to announce that Marley Miles (Baker’s Class) will serve as this year’s Parade Grand Marshal! 💙
🎃 Parade Order by Grade:
➡️ Grade 3 ➡️ Grade 4 ➡️ Grade 2 ➡️ Grade 1 ➡️ Kindergarten ➡️ Grade 5 ➡️ Preschool
👶 Preschool Families:
There’s no class on Fridays, but guardians are warmly welcome to join the parade at the end!
This lets our littlest Warriors enjoy the fun at their own pace — and skip the “Not-So-Spooky Bank” portion if preferred.
🙌 Volunteers
If your student’s classroom teacher needs parade volunteers, they will reach out directly to families via ParentSquare. All volunteer coordination for the parade will go through the classroom.
If your student’s class does not need volunteers — no worries!
We still need plenty of spectators to cheer on our Warriors and help make the parade special for everyone! 💙🎃
⚠️ Public Event Disclaimer:
Both the Nisswa PTO Spooktacular and the Nisswa Chamber Halloween Parade are public events. Please note that photography or videography may occur and is not regulated by the district.
If you wish for your student not to participate in the Nisswa Chamber Halloween Parade, please provide that information directly to their classroom teacher.
Students not participating will remain in the Nisswa Office during the event and will be supervised until their class returns.
💙 Thank you for helping make these events fun, safe, and memorable for all of our Nisswa Warriors!
